The STELA drying system
With the STELA drying system, the energy necessary
for this process can be basically fed into the
system through the most various heating media. Among
them are low-calorific heating media like air, flue
gases, hot water and steam. Also combined processes
with one or several heating media are possible.
Having passed the drier tunnel, the product on the
belt is taken out off the hot air zone and, at the
air of the belt, the dried shavings and chips fall
into a discharge screw to be conveyed and processed.
An online moisture measuring device controls the
drying process, thus with varying initial moistures
a constand final moisture can be kept in narrow
tolerances. The control aims at keeping the drier at
the maximum possible drying capacity under the
condition of unstable parameters like heating
capacity, weather conditions, product moisture and
product quality. The dry product dehydrated to
approx. 10 % water content is extremely suitable for
direct firing or pellet processing. A wet and dry
cleaning system cleans the belt at the feeding and
discharge zone so that a trouble-free and optimum
continuous operation is guaranteed. Additional
safety devices guarantee an automatic shutdown in
case of failures or incorrect operation. Belt run,
belt tension and adjustment are monitored
continuously and adjusted if required.
